UAE Billionaires List 2026

25 June 2026 7 min read

The UAE has one of the densest concentrations of billionaires per capita in the world. The list below is a mix of Emirati ruling family wealth, Emirati private business, and resident expats who built fortunes inside or outside the country.

Emirati industrialists and business leaders

  • Hussain Sajwani — founder of Damac Properties, also active in data centres and digital assets.
  • Abdulla bin Ahmad Al Ghurair family — banking (Mashreq), industrial holdings.
  • Saif Al Ghurair family — diversified industrials and food.
  • Majid Al Futtaim family — Carrefour franchise, Mall of the Emirates, Mall of Egypt and broader malls and leisure portfolio.
  • Suhail Al Mazrouei — investments and energy linked wealth.
  • Bin Hamoodah, Bin Butti and Al Habtoor families — diversified business empires with hospitality, automotive distribution, real estate and contracting.
  • Khalaf Al Habtoor — founder of Al Habtoor Group.

Indian origin billionaires based in the UAE

  • M.A. Yusuff Ali (LuLu Group)
  • P.N.C. Menon and family (Sobha)
  • Sunny Varkey (GEMS Education)
  • Rizwan Sajan (Danube)
  • Landmark Group family (Jagtiani)

Other expatriate billionaires resident in the UAE

A growing list of Russian, European, British, American and Chinese entrepreneurs now hold UAE Golden Visas and consider Dubai or Abu Dhabi home, though many remain low profile and intentionally do not feature on public lists.

Ruling family wealth

The ruling families of Abu Dhabi and Dubai sit on enormous wealth that is partly personal and partly state linked. Forbes and similar rankings do not typically include rulers, but their influence on the economic landscape is foundational.

A note on Forbes

The annual Forbes UAE billionaires list typically captures 20 to 25 names with publicly visible wealth. The real number of UAE based billionaires, including private resident expats and discreet family offices, is meaningfully higher.

Why it matters

The UAE is a place where capital concentration drives opportunity. Whether you are a founder, an investor or a service provider, understanding the names and the families behind them is part of operating intelligently in the country.

If you serve UHNW clients in the UAE and want context on family offices, we work with several of these mandates discreetly.
