List Of Countries You Can Travel To With Your Emirates ID

25 June 2026 6 min read

Your Emirates ID is not just for the gym and the supermarket. UAE residency unlocks a set of countries that you can travel to either visa free, visa on arrival, or with a fast track e visa specifically because you hold UAE residency. Coverage varies by your passport, so always check before flying.

GCC countries (no extra visa for residents)

  • Saudi Arabia (via the Gulf residents tourist e visa for eligible professions and salaries)
  • Bahrain (e visa available for UAE residents)
  • Oman (e visa available for UAE residents)
  • Kuwait (e visa available for UAE residents under certain professions)
  • Qatar (visa on arrival or e visa for eligible UAE residents)

Visa on arrival for most UAE residents (depending on passport)

  • Georgia
  • Armenia
  • Jordan
  • Maldives
  • Seychelles
  • Mauritius (some passports)
  • Tanzania (Zanzibar)
  • Sri Lanka (ETA)
  • Indonesia (Bali) — visa on arrival
  • Cambodia
  • Lebanon (some passports)

e visa or fast track with proof of UAE residency

  • Türkiye (e visa for most passports)
  • Egypt (e visa or visa on arrival)
  • Morocco (depending on passport)
  • Azerbaijan (ASAN visa, fast e visa)
  • Thailand (depending on passport)
  • Kenya (eTA)
  • Rwanda (visa on arrival)

Important caveats

  • This list depends entirely on your underlying passport. An Indian passport with UAE residency unlocks far more countries than the same passport without UAE residency, but it does not unlock Schengen or the UK.
  • Always check the destination's official visa page within 72 hours of your trip; rules change frequently.
  • Your Emirates ID is your domestic ID. You still travel with your passport plus your UAE residence visa stamp or e visa.
